The YouTube Community Posts Tab is a fairly new feature, and it’s gaining traction fast among creators and subscribers alike.

Your YouTube Community Posts Tab is a dedicated space on your YouTube channel where you and your viewers can hang out, join conversations, enjoy channel and creator updates, and build… well, community!

The YouTube Community Posts Tab is where YouTubers can interact with their YouTube Community beyond regular video uploads.

It enables YouTube channels to post updates, polls, images, announcements, and links, creating a more engaging experience for subscribers.

This feature is a real standout for growing your YouTube audience, gaining subscribers, increasing engagement, and strengthening relationships with your channel's fans.

Let’s find out more!

All the Reasons You Want a YouTube Posts Tab

Getting your YouTube Community Posts tab is more than just an added feature; it’s an important engagement tool for YouTubers of all sizes.

The Posts tab allows YouTubers to post updates, behind-the-scenes content, event announcements, images, GIFs, and quizzes. and polls in a format that’s very familiar to most social media users.

This scrolling feed helps keep your audience engaged and increases subscriber involvement.

In turn, having a more interactive YouTube channel boosts your channel’s growth, building stronger connections with your subscribers and encouraging audience participation so they keep coming back to your channel and content.

Having a more loyal audience is also a great way to improve the performance of your YouTube videos. Hype a brand-new YouTube video on your Posts tab, and watch your views, subscribers, and comments grow!

YouTube’s algorithm favors channels that actively engage with their viewing community, which can lead to higher visibility and more subscribers.

Finding and Using Your YouTube Community Posts

You can find your YouTube channel’s posts under the Posts tab, which is where you’ll publish your posts for your community.

Those posts show up on your channel’s Posts tab, and may also appear on the “Home” feed of your subscribers, or even (potentially) on the YouTube homepage, depending on the YouTube algorithm.

There’s no longer a minimum subscriber requirement to post, but your YouTube channel must be in good standing with YouTube’s policies.

Posts may not be available if you’re using a supervised account or if your channel is set as “Made for Kids”, and posts may be removed if they violate YouTube’s Community guidelines.

You can post to your Posts tab from the YouTube app by tapping the Create Icon, then Post. From YouTube Studio, simply hit the Create button and navigate to Posts from there, or click the Posts tab on your YouTube channel.

The different icons will guide you through posting a text update, an image, a poll, an existing YouTube video, or even launching a quiz for your audience.

You can see all of your YouTube Community Posts in YouTube Studio by going to Content, then Posts, where you can edit your posts and see how much engagement each post got.

6 Great Ways to Maximize Your YouTube Posts Tab

Now that you’ve located your YouTube Community Posts tab and learned how to use it, it’s time to create YouTube Posts for creativity, growth, promotion, and audience interaction!

Here are some amazing ways you can use your Posts tab to keep your YouTube community engaged:

1. Post Regular Updates

  • Your Posts tab is the perfect place to make community announcements, share your event schedule, preview any special guests you might have on your videos or YouTube Live, and give your community updates on upcoming videos. Posting 2-3 times per week keeps your audience engaged and helps improve your channel’s visibility.
  • Your regular updates can also include notifying your subscribers about any changes to your upload schedule or additions to your regular posts (be sure to remind your viewers to enable notifications!).

2. Use Polls and Interactive Posts

  • Engage with your audience by getting them to participate via Posts! Some fun ways to do this are to host polls and quizzes, ask your subscribers to vote on topics of discussion, or even let them pick the next video that you’ll produce and upload.
  • You can also use your Posts tab to ask questions to get feedback and understand what your YouTube community enjoys most about your channel, so you can make more of it for your subscribers and fans.

3. Promote New and Old Videos

  • Share links to your latest videos to build hype and to get more views right out of the gate. Posting a post in Posts right alongside your brand new YouTube video is a good way to start conversations about your latest creation.
  • And don’t neglect your past videos—your Posts tab is also great for sharing older content with your subscribers (try titles like “Throwback Thursday” or “On This Date Last Year”) to keep your content moving and improve channel history engagement.

4. Add Images, GIFs, and Memes

  • Posts are perfect for sharing images; you can give your audience a look into your everyday activities, or share sneak peeks of upcoming content or other projects you’re working on.
  • Everyone enjoys a good laugh! Whether you’re poking fun at your own content or yourself, or just sharing something relevant to the day’s happenings, you can use fun GIFs or memes to make your posts visually appealing and entertaining for your subscribers.

5. Share Exclusive Content

  • Exclusive content is another way to reward your subscribers or your paying members; you can use your Posts tab to share behind-the-scenes looks at how you create your content, or give them a tour of your streaming space.
  • Putting a special video behind an Unlisted YouTube link and only making it available to those reading your Posts tab can be a great incentive to get more people to interact with your YouTube Community Posts section!

6. Host Giveaways

  • Host contests and giveaways right in your posts to further hype your Posts section and boost subscriber engagement.
  • Encourage viewers to comment on your YouTube Community Posts or share them on their own socials for a chance to win.
