November Patch Notes

The last 30 days have seen a lot of progress, with the launch of knitted products and custom jewelry, mobile apps for memberships, strikethrough pricing, and a ton of other improvements.
Patch Notes November 2023

New products: Knitted products and custom jewelry

We know that high-quality, unique products help your store stand out and keep your community interested, so we’ve been looking for great manufacturers to partner with, and we’re excited to announce two brand-new product categories: Knitted products and custom jewelry! We’ve been testing these for a while, and we couldn’t be more proud of the quality, we think you and your supporters will love them too.

Mobile apps for memberships

You can now offer your members a beautiful, fully-branded custom app where they can access your membership content along with your full site – complete with push notifications so your members never miss an update.

And the best part? You don't have to pay Apple's 30% tax for payments collected in the apps.

We were able to make this happen using the progressive web app technology that Apple recently expanded support for. The technology has finally gotten to a place where progressive web apps are nearly indistinguishable from apps you download via the app store

Compare-at (strikethrough) pricing

It’s now easier than ever to show off deals you’re offering with our new compare-at-pricing feature, which lets you show a crossed-out price next to your actual selling price. We’re excited to see how you all use it to hype your holiday sales!

This is how strikethrough pricing appears on the product page

You can turn on compare-at pricing in the product details page of your admin dashboard!

Product designer speed improvements and bug fixes

Last month we announced we were migrating to a new product design tool that would allow us to expand our product catalog with more unique and interesting products (like the knitted products I talked about above)  – but once we launched, we discovered that a number of creators were having issues with laggy performance or bugs that made it difficult to create new products.

The team spent the second half of this month working hard on performance improvements and bug fixes, and I’m excited to announce that we’ve now significantly increased the speed and performance of the new designer as well as tested it on a number of browsers:

New Klaviyo app

For those of you who use Klaviyo (an email marketing tool), we partnered with Klaviyo to launch an official Klaviyo app that makes it easy to sync emails you collect on your Fourthwall website with your Klaviyo account!

New Laylo app

We also launched a Laylo app, a tool that makes it easy to launch sophisticated countdown pages to build hype for upcoming drops!

Seamless scrolling in membership feeds

We launched infinity scrolling in the membership feeds (both desktop and mobile)! This means that when a member is scrolling down through your posts, we’ll quietly continue to load more posts so they don’t have to navigate back and forth between pages. This is the same system that TikTok and Instagram use and should make browsing your content easier than ever.

onboarding checklist IMPROVEMENTS for new creators

The experience of creating a new Fourthwall site just got easier with our revamped onboarding checklist! While most of you reading this probably already have a Fourthwall site live and running, it’s never been a better time to send your creators to Fourthwall and earn free sample credit for doing so!

Account names are now editable (finally!)

You can now edit your account names after your account is created! No more contacting support and having to wait for our team to do it for you manually.

New team role: Thank you note sender

We had a few requests from creators and managers who wanted to invite people to their team exclusively for the purpose of sending thank-you notes to supporters. We now support that with the new “Thank you note sender”, which is a team role that only allows the member to send thank yous, and they cannot view or change anything else.

AI-powered support bot

We pride ourselves on having fast, effective customer support, but sometimes, you need an answer instantly and don’t have a few hours to wait for a reply. To help with this, we’re testing out an AI-powered support bot, which you can find by clicking the chat icon in the bottom right of your admin dashboard.

So far, it’s looking promising, with 82% of conversations not needing a real human to help and 70% of people rating their answers as “very helpful”.

Agency Dashboard analytics improvements

On the Agency Dashboard, our tool for people who work with lots of Fourthwall sites at once, we improved the analytics by adding a few new graphs to help you track the sites you manage:

  1. Top products by unit sold
  2. Sales by country
  3. Members

While we don’t expect a lot more feature improvements for the agency dashboard in Q4, we have a big roadmap for 2024 and are committed to making this the best platform for managers and agencies who manage multiple creators.

Mobile app improvements: EASIER SIGN-UP VIA APP, Members-only product support, and accurate Twitch gift statuses

We want creators to be able to fully manage their Fourthwall businesses from their phones, and to do that, we’re continuing to invest in our iOS and Android mobile apps. This month, we launched the ability to sign-up for Fourthwall via our mobile app (you used to only be able to log in), support for setting up members-only products in the apps as well as making it easier to recognize and track Twitch gifts.

I couldn’t be more proud of how fast the team is moving and how many great improvements we’ve been able to ship out over the past few months. Keep sending us feedback on Discord and Twitter – we’re listening, and we love hearing your ideas!
