June Patch Notes: 20+ New Products, Memberships Improvements, & More

June is officially a wrap! We made a number of improvements for creators including adding 22 new products to our product catalog and dozens of quality-of-life improvements.
Patch Notes – June 2023

Black mugs, flags, swimsuits, and more: More than 20 new on-demand products added to the catalog

Black mug

There are now 22 new on-demand products for you to design and offer to your audiences! This includes the highly requested black mug (which is harder to manufacture on-demand than you might think), flags, swimsuits, and more. Here’s the full list:

Expect more products to be released over the coming months, including some amazing & unique items for the holidays.

Filtering by brand in the product catalog

While we’re on the subject of our product catalog, I also wanted to share a quality-of-life improvement we released: you can now filter the catalog by specific brands!

Social sharing images: Customize the image that shows up when someone shares your link

The image that automatically shows up when you post a link on social platforms like Twitter and Discord can be the first impression a potential customer has about your brand.

By default, we use a photo of your most recently created product as this image, but you can now customize the image!

You can upload your own custom image in the Settings tab of your dashboard:

Go to the Settings tab of your dashboard and look for "Social sharing image" under the General tab.

And here’s how it looks when your link is shared on popular platforms:

Memberships updates: Public members counts (optional), easier perks previews for admins, and a bunch of other quality-of-life improvements

The memberships team had a busy month! There are the highlights:

Publicly show the number of members in each tier (optional)

You can now publicly display how many members each of your tiers have. While this feature isn’t for everyone, it’s something we’ve gotten a bunch of requests for. By default, this will be disabled – so if you do want to add it you can opt-in in your membership settings!

Auto-login to members only area for creators/admins

If you’re logged into your admin dashboard and you visit your members only area, you’ll now be automatically logged in! We hope this saves you some time and makes it easier to jump in and reply to comments from your members.

Dozens of smaller improvements and fixes

We also released dozens of smaller improvements and fixes, including improving checkout load speeds, increasing the max length of tags to 30 characters, support for longer perk descriptions, properly styling (and wrapping) long post titles, improving the private RSS feed UX, and more!

Support for Kick, Ko-Fi and Patreon links

We added support for Kick, Ko-Fi and Patreon links in our website design & layout tool:

You can now add Kick links to your website

We made it easier to create dropdown menus in your navigation

We made it easier to create nested dropdown menus in your navigation! Here’s a quick video of the improved experience:

Order data download improvements

We made a few frequently requested improvements to the order exports in June:

  1. Twitch Gifts are now included in downloaded order data
  2. Donations are now included in downloaded order data
  3. We now correctly label sample orders, Twitch gift redemptions,
  4. The downloaded spreadsheet is now sorted by transaction date

Domain/DNS connection improvements

We want to make connecting a custom domain as easy as possible, even if you use a domain registrar (the company you purchase the domain from) that isn’t supported by our automated setup flow. We made a number of improvements to the manual setup flow this month, including:

  1. We now detect who you purchased your domain from and link directly to their domain record setup instructions, to make setup easier
  2. When there is a problem, we now show the errors by default so you can see what’s going on without hovering over the record we’ve detected an issue with
  3. Added additional instructions/messaging during the manual setup process to help guide creators through parts of the process that we’ve heard are confusing
  4. Added a “retry connection” button that lets you retry a connection with a single click

Those are just a few of about a dozen improvements that were made to the domain connection flow this month!

New dedicated landing page for Twitch streamers

We also launched a new dedicated landing page for Twitch streamers! This is part of our effort to give creators more specific information about how Fourthwall can be best used for their platform: https://fourthwall.com/twitch

While we’re excited about what we got done in June, July is already off to a fast start. Keep an eye on our Twitter for big announcements and I’ll be back in early August for another edition of patch notes!
