Introducing Fourthwall’s new YouTube Merch Shelf app

Fourthwall creators can now easily showcase their favorite products below their YouTube videos with the YouTube Product Shelf
Fourthwall's YouTube Merch Shelf (YouTube Product Shelf) app

We're thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new YouTube Merch Shelf (YouTube Product Shelf) integration. While Fourthwall has always supported YouTube Merch Shelf, we invested a ton of time into building the easiest way for YouTube creators to showcase their products, merchandise, and apparel under your YouTube channels via YouTube Studio. We've compared this with other integrations like on Teespring, Spreadshop, and Shopify and are confident that this by far the easiest way to sell ecommerce products online to your audience.

Today’s launch includes the following:

  • It’s now 10x easier to connect your Fourthwall site to YouTube
  • You can connect multiple YouTube channels to a single Fourthwall shop
  • And we highlight every step of Google’s product review process

The result is that you can show off your favorite products on your channel just like YouTuber Philip DeFranco sells hoodies and other apparel underneath each of his videos:

For creators that are eligible to monetize their YouTube account, this is a great way to showcase products with a merchbar.

We’re excited to announce the official launch of our YouTube Merch Shelf app, which you can find under the “Apps” tab of your dashboard

The goal was to make this 10x easier for creators looking to get started. One click, and then you can manage your Fourthwall shop seamlessly from your Channel Monetization settings.

Connecting multiple YouTube channels to a single Fourthwall shop

One of the most requested Fourthwall features is the ability to connect multiple YouTube channels to a single site. Today, we’re excited to announce just that!

This will allow you to showcase all your favorite Fourthwall products directly on ALL of your channels (not just the primary). We want your fans to find their favorite merchandise, products, and digital goods no matter which channel they watch your content on.

Improved reporting when Google approves/rejects your products

One of the most challenging parts of the YouTube Product Shelf experience is that it’s managed by two internal teams at Google – the Google Merchant Center team and the YouTube team. Combine this with the fact that there are 1000s of reasons that Google may elect to not approve one of your products (e.g. dangerous goods. The result is that many products get rejected in ways that are not always obvious to creators.

At Fourthwall, we’ve worked directly with Google to improve this experience for all creators. That way you can know when your products are approved (and why):

For rejections, you’ll be able to click into the details and see an explicit reason for why it was not allowed (for example, if you upload a digital product with an image that is too small):

This will ensure that you’re always in control of which Fourthwall products show up on your YouTube channel.

Note: Each time you change a product, it can take up to 24 hours for Google to complete their review cycle.
