Minecraft Content on YouTube Has Been Viewed Over a Trillion Times

That's about 125 views for every human on the planet. So how did it get there?
One trillion Minecraft video views on YouTube

1 trillion views on YouTube is 125 for every human on the planet. 🌎

Obviously not everyone plays Minecraft, so how is it possible that people are consuming this much content?

Minecraft is much more than a game. It’s a platform- a learning tool, an artistic tool, a world building & storytelling tool. On top of traditional gameplay, creators use footage of the Minecraft platform for:

  • Parodies (CaptainSparklez)
  • Survival Multiplayer content (SMP) (Hermitcraft, Dream)
  • Modding- (Fundy, Vnator, Sky Does Everything)
  • Role Playing (DanTDM, stampylonghead)

Some creators like Mikecrack and Aphmau skirt the line between roleplay and full animated storytelling, the latter of which is now the most viewed Minecraft creator on the platform. In place of using traditional animated characters, they have characters in the game voiced by real people act out storylines. This vibrant creative ecosystem is made possible by the fact that the game is a sandbox with the freedom to make it what you want. It’s basically legos in the metaverse. I can’t help but be a little jealous of the kids that got to flex their creative muscles early on with platforms like this and Roblox as well. Microsoft got an amazing deal when they bought the game for $2.5 billion, even designer brands like Burberry are dropping Minecraft merch.
