Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM) make up the top 2 ecommerce sales days of the year. These days are coming up fast, so to help you take advantage of these days to grow your community, the Fourthwall team has put together a guide to guarantee success this Black Friday and beyond.

Before launching

Order samples

If you haven’t already, get your sample orders in ASAP! Not only can you use this to see if you like the quality and design, you can also use your samples for promotional purposes. 

If you don't have samples, don't worry! Fourthwall's mockup generator will help you ensure your fans know what they're getting by showcasing the amazing quality on each product listing.

Create promotional content + start promoting

Before you announce your launch, you should plan out your promotional social media posts, videos, etc. You can use this content to post sneak peeks and teasers leading up to your holiday drop. Post about your drop, giving the exact URL, day, and time so that your supporters will be ready and eager to check out your new products. 

Create promo codes and sales

People are looking for the best discounts this season. Black Friday deals are a must. Here are some of our favorite ways to use promotions, plus some examples we love:

  • $-specific - Buy more, save more for the holidays! From Black Friday to Cyber Monday: spend $100, get 20% off. Spend $200, get 30% off.
  • Product-specific - Give fans a discount on specific products. Use code BLACKFRIDAY for 10% off the entire Holiday collection!
  • Time-specific - Use limited time offers to give fans access to incredible deals if they act fast. First 100 orders on Black Friday get 25% off with code TURKEY. Shop opens at 9am PT!
  • Shipping-specific - Offer free shipping on products or over certain dollar amounts. Free shipping in the US for orders over $100!

Set a countdown on your shop

You can enable a countdown on your shop by editing the header. We suggest doing this so that you can share your shop link during promotion, making it easier for supporters to find it and keep track of the launch date. You can give a few of your friends or supporters early access to your site by sharing a temporary passcode you create. 

During your launch

Promote, promote, promote! Generate hype on socials

Make sure everyone knows about your site. Promote across your socials, and encourage friends and loyal supporters to help you with this. This is a great time to post pictures of your samples, showing off the quality of what you’re selling. Eeveenara has done an amazing job at promoting her shop:

Kick off your launch with a giveaway (Twitch gifting or giveaway links)

The holiday season is the perfect time to be extra generous towards your community. Enable Twitch Gifting and run a giveaway so someone lucky can win a product from your shop. You can also create giveaway links and share them with some community members. People love seeing that you care, and that might even encourage them to return the favor. 

After launching

Thank your supporters

Personalized thank you videos are guaranteed to make anyone’s day. Give your community some extra love by sending them thank yous after they’ve made purchases. 

Send emails to customers

If videos aren’t your thing, or you prefer email, check out our Klaviyo integration which allows you to email your customers, and even send custom cart abandonment emails. You may also want to reach out to supporters to thank them, or to keep them in mind for future drops.

Continue promoting

Just because Black Friday and Cyber Monday have passed, it doesn’t mean you can’t keep promoting your shop. People that missed out on the great deals may still want a chance to purchase from your site, so keep reminding them that they can.
